Pre-Ops and Why?

Pictures are wonderful for shades or texture, but when it comes to the actual design of any anterior crowns, we bring in and align the preop scan and use that as a good starting point for design.

With pictures only, it's nearly impossible to get the correct measurements/shape/contour as we're eyeballing and making our best educated guess.

We've found Dr and pt seem to be more pleased and happier when we work off a preop for anterior cases. (this also helps in posterior cases)

Going forward on anterior cases, if it's easier, you can take a scan of the pt before you start prepping the teeth and send that over.

Thank you!- Ashley ☺️

About Us

There is always something to learn...  now in my 50th year as a lab tech the landscape continues to change.  With that comes efficiencies in most cases, but not without a cost and sometimes quite the learning curve.  The idea behind RDLtechnews.online is to share experiences, new products as well as old, along with a few technical tips that we, as a lab, have come across.  If you have a question, never hesitate to ask.  If we don't have the answer, someone does!!
